Commercial Imperative:
Following the resignation of the Head of Property, the new CFO wanted experienced resource to immediately take control and advise on how to bring stepped change to the Group Property Function. The need for change came at a time of significant corporate growth and restructuring, including the acquisition of MacLellan plc for £120M a few weeks after CPA’s involvement began. CPA Role:
Reporting to the CFO, our initial challenge was to obtain transparency of the portfolio and identifying priority actions. Other priorities were then identified, from quick wins to longer term high value issues following discussion with the business units and understanding Group objectives. The integration of MacLellan was dominant, bringing 26 new properties across the UK. The Result:
Day to day operations were maintained and improved whilst corporate due diligence and business integration were supported. A full review of the property function including service requirements, cost dynamics and business expectations was undertaken. This concluded in the scoping of the function and selection and appointment of a full time Head of Property.
