A Japanese engineering company providing services to the McLaren F1 team needed a new European HQ and R&D facility for its F1 brake technology. Requirement for a bespoke building with specific performance criteria and desire to lease (rather than use its own capital). Existing UK HQ in the Thames Valley required disposal. CPA Role
Reporting to the VP Global Board, we defined and scoped the project, creating a brief for the market based on their engineering and performance requirements. We then shortlisted options for viewing / selection and negotiated terms for pre-lease and development agreements; representing the client through the design and costing process and selection and management of the professional team. The Result
Agreed form of contract on Development Agreement and form of lease with Developer, contractor and professional team. A visionary design and high specification was created that could act as a global branding vehicle for a major F1 player. All undertaken in less than twelve months.
